Welcome to our practice.

Director Kenneth J. Lau, LCSW and the clinicians at Empire State Forensics provide assessment, treatment, and consultation for persons with past or current sexual behavior problems or concerns, as well as treatment for their loved ones.

We accept referrals from individuals and concerned family members, local and federal probation/parole offices, family court and case workers, as well as attorneys.

At Empire State Forensics, preventing sexual harm and helping our clients have a satisfying life is what drives us. We utilize strengths-based modalities of treatment that encourage healthy achievement of goals and improve overall well being.

The Practice

Empire State Forensics is known for delivering quality, empirically-based evaluation, treatment, and consultation.

Our treatment philosophy adheres to the Good Lives Model as well as the Risk-Need-Responsivity treatment program framework.

The Good Lives Model (GLM) focuses on helping each client understand his pathway to offending; learn to manage his problematic behavior; and live a harm-free, “good” life  through attaining healthy life goals that are subsumed in their individualized values.

The Risk-Needs-Responsivity (RNR) approach helps guide our staff in decision making related to the amount of treatment recommended, the type of treatment plan that will help the most, and the treatment approach that will be most effective for each individual.
